PPTC (Polymer Positive Temperature Coefficient), also known as a self-resetting fuse, is an electronic component used for short-circuit and overload protection in electronic devices. It is composed primarily of polymer resin and conductive materials (primarily carbon black).
PPTC is widely used in various fields requiring circuit protection, including but not limited to:
Automotive Industry: Protects against excessive current or temperature in various products' power input terminals.
Lighting Industry: Used at the DC input of LED lighting and lamps to safeguard circuit safety.
Motor Industry: Prevents motor stall and overheating conditions.
Telecommunications: Protects downstream circuits from high current surges at the DC input of power supplies.
